VRA Amsterdam, the Netherlands' champions, have announced a change of direction in the management of their international facilities at the club.
On Friday the club said that Paul Polak, the groundsman since turf wickets were first laid in 1997, would be standing down to allow a "new approach". Acting chairman Ed van Nierop said: "The club is very grateful to Paul for the contribution he has made over the years, which has helped to establish Amsterdam as a major international venue in Associates cricket."
The club is in consultation with the UK Institute of Groundsmanship, which has had previously assisted them, to find a replacement well ahead of the 2008 season.
The square at the Amsterdamse Bos has been increased so it now boasts ten strips, and there is also a new grass practice area.
