Walsh still the sexiest

Not only is he the world's leading wicket-taker, but for the second year in a row, Courtney Walsh is the ladies' choice as Windies Sexiest Man.

Of 40 women surveyed at Kensington Oval yesterday, 13 said Walsh was the sexiest man on the team. Why was he the favourite?

Perhaps as Bermudian visitor Florence White, 65 said: 'The sexiest just has to be my boy Courtney Walsh.'

Those who voted for Walsh thought the 37-year-old was, 'handsome with a nice face and smile', according to Tracey Mottley, 24.

Others like Kim Ledger were impressed with his mannerisms. 'He has a nice manner,' said the 19-year-old Briton.

'I like the way he carries himself with his nice sexy walk,' added Katherine Best, 34.

However, what seemed to draw the ladies to the distinguished bowler are his attributes below the waist.

'He has a nice bumper [behind]', said Juliet White, 22, who was joined by 24-year old Natalie Lewis from Guyana who, 'likes his butt'. And 31-year-old Andrea Lashley who thinks 'Courtney's butt looks good running down the wicket.'

Women in Barbados seem to have a passion for nice behinds. Here is what they had to say about Franklyn Rose, who placed second with 11 votes.

'I like his firm butt and how he carries himself,' said secretary Sally-Ann Crichlow, 30.

Rose was also a favourite with the ladies because of his smile.

'He has a nice height and smile,' said Sharon Bogle, 28, of Jamaica.

'I admire his smile. My favourite used to be Walsh, but now it is Rose,' said 28 year-old Victoria Eurysthe.

In third place with six votes was Curtly Ambrose, whose mouth clearly put him in the running.

'I like his nice full smile,' said 23-year old Alexis Atwell

'I like his mouth,' said Kayrene Gibson, 31.

Tied at fourth with three votes apiece were captain Jimmy Adams and vice-captain Sherwin Campbell.

Thanks to the likes of Janelle King, 19, who was, 'turned on by the way Jimmy handles the team, and 55-year-old Sonia Dowrich who was, 'struck by Campbell as being the sexiest of the players'.

Others who received mention were Brian Lara with two votes and Wavell Hinds with one.

The players who did not place need not worry, as 90-year-old Elaine Devonish said: 'All of the guys are sweet, I like all of them.'
