Former South African skipper Kepler Wessels has approached Middlesex about the possibility of taking over as coach after the club's decision to part company with Mike Gatting and Ian Gould.
Wessels, 42, is currently engaged in media work and has a position with a security company in South Africa, but he has asked Middlesex to let him know when they officially advertise the post.
"I am very heavily committed business-wise in South Africa, so it's a
difficult situation", Wessels said.
"All I've really done is asked Middlesex that if they do advertise the job to
send me a copy of the advertisement so see what it's all about. I've made an
inquiry, I wanted to see what it entails."
