Nangeyalia Kharote

A left-arm orthodox spinner, Nangeyalia Kharote made his professional debut in the Shpageeza Cricket League as a 16-year-old in 2020 and made an immediate impact, finishing the season as the joint-highest wicket-taker. He was the player of the match in the final and was named the Best Emerging Player of the tournament.

A List A debut followed in the Ghazi Amanullah Khan Regional One Day Tournament a month later, where he finished with eight wickets from five games.

As he continued to impress in domestic competitions, Kharote finally got a national call-up in both white-ball formats against Ireland in 2024. He made his ODI debut in Sharjah, returning four wickets in a thumping win.

A T20I debut against Ireland followed, with Kharote striking twice and conceding just 16 runs from his four overs. He finished the series with five wickets, and earned a call-up for the T20 World Cup 2024. His first World Cup game was Afghanistan's famous win over Australia, and he went on to play in the key win over Bangladesh that sent them through to their first ever World Cup semi-final.
