Baz Zuiderent and Ryan ten Doeschate scored centuries, adding 232 for the second wicket, on the third day against UAE in Sharjah to give Netherlands the chance of a crucial Intercontinental Cup victory. However, from a commanding position Netherlands collapsed to leave the door ajar for a final-day run chase by UAE.
Zuiderent and ten Doeschate dominated for most of the day in their double-century stand. ten Doeschate led the scoring, cracking 20 fours and six sixes in a typically aggressive 146 off 187 balls. Zuiderent's innings came at a much slower pace and with a lower boundary count, just five fours and two sixes in his 273 deliveries.

Rohit Sharma's century helped Mumbai pile up 285 and set up a 59-run victory over Tamil Nadu to cruise into the semi-finals in Visakhapatnam. Medium-pacer Usman Malvi took three early wickets to wipe out Tamil Nadu's hopes of chasing down the big target.
After deciding to bat, Mumbai were given a solid platform by openers Sahil Kukreja and Ajinkya Rahane, who put on 62 by the 12th over. Rahane's dismissal for a run-a-ball 32 brought Rohit, who turned in some impressive performances with the national team during the CB series in Australia. He added 119 runs in quick time with Kukreja before the partnership was ended by medium-pacer Sivakumar. Rohit then ensured Mumbai posted a formidable total, though none of the other batsmen to follow reached even 20, as he smashed eight fours and three sixes to make his second List A century.

Samaraweera ton sets challenging target

Thilan Samaraweera's determined hundred brought the match back into balance as Sri Lanka set West Indies a target of 253

The second Test at the Queen's Park Oval hung in the balance at the start of the third day, waiting for one team to grab the advantage. West Indies' fast bowlers did exactly that, rattling Sri Lanka's top order to reduce them to 32 for 4 in the second innings. However, Thilan Samaraweera's determined hundred brought the match back into balance and his century partnership with Chaminda Vaas set West Indies a target of 253, one which should stretch them on a wearing pitch.
The importance of Samaraweera's century cannot be overstated for the damage caused to Sri Lanka in the first session was severe. West Indies had gained a 16-run advantage in the first-innings, a lead which was merely symbolic. However, Sri Lanka lost their openers before the deficit was wiped out and their best batsmen - Mahela Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakkara - also fell cheaply.

Faiz Fazal's patient 64 set up Vidarbha's competitive 204 before the bowlers, led by the young Ravi Jangid, combined to take the side to the semi-final of the Vijay Hazare Trophy in Visakhapatnam.
Himachal appeared to have read the conditions well after choosing to field first. Ashok Thakur, the medium-pacer, continued his fine season with a four-wicket haul, reducing Vidarbha to 110 for 5.
Fazal, the opening batsman, weathered a top-order collapse to cobble together a valuable 121-ball 64. He received valuable support from 20-year old Jangid, who, in just his sixth match, scored a 44-ball 36.

Saeed Anwar jnr, KRL's opener, top scored with 93 off 104 balls and added 122 runs with Mohammad Wasim for the third wicket. Azhar Ali (47) and Bazid Khan (34*) chipped in at the middle order. Rawalpindi lost their first three wickets with only four runs on the board. Usman Saeed (77) led the recovery, helped by Naved Ashraf (30) and Adnan Mufti (32). But Rawalpindi had lost eight wickets when they needed another 79 to win. Yasir Ali and Mohammad Rameez, Nos. 9 and 10, pushed towards the target in quick time. Yasir hit five fours in his 46-ball 51 and Rameez gave him company with a 30-ball 31. But KRL held their nerves and ran out Yasir off the last ball as the ninth-wicket pair scrambled for a winning single.

Bowlers seal emphatic win for South Africa

South Africa, a class apart from first ball to last, swept to a thoroughly deserved innings-and-90-run victory inside three days to take a 1-0 lead in the three-Test series

Sourav Ganguly stood on the burning deck nearly four hours for a fine 87 as India's misadventure at Motera ended with ugly scars that may take a while to heal. South Africa, a class apart from first ball to last, swept to a thoroughly deserved innings-and-90-run victory inside three days and cannot lose a series that was billed as the contest for the No.2 ranking behind Australia.
Ganguly added 110 with Mahendra Singh Dhoni, and 55 with VVS Laxman, exhibiting all the determination and poise that had been conspicuously absent in India's abject first innings. But once Dale Steyn, wicketless until then, returned to tempt him into a drive from round the wicket, the match was only ever going to have one outcome. Ganguly stood his ground, and replays suggested the noise that alerted Tony Hill might have been bat striking ground, but the South Africans were convinced that there had been a big deflection.

Sinhalese SC clinched the 2007-08 Premier League Tier A title when they drew their final match of the season against defending champions Colombo CC at Maitland Crescent. The win gave SSC a rare triple for the season - they had earlier won the Premier limited-over and the Under 23 tournaments.
SSC who went into the match needing only a draw to win the championship made certain they achieved that objective when they piled up an imposing 513 in the first innings. This total was achieved largely due to the batting exploits of 25-year-old left-handed opener Tharanga Paranavitana, who captained the side in the absence of Thilan Samaraweera, currently with the national side in the Caribbean.
Paranavitana scored a career-best 236 (off 392 balls) which laid the foundation for SSC's big first innings total. It was a gutsy innings by some standards because he took a blow on the 'box' in the second over and had to retire hurt when on 5. He resumed his innings at the fall of the second wicket with the team total on 44.

When the platteland dust cleared in Bloemfontein on Friday night, the Lions and the Eagles had tied their Standard Bank Pro20 match. And that despite a masterful blast from opener Alviro Petersen, who faced 48 balls for his 64 and spiked his innings with seven fours and a six.
Petersen's valiant effort was enough to nudge the Lions past the Eagles, who were bowled out for 152 in 19.4 overs. In reply, the Lions mustered 152 for 7.

Scotland take lead as wickets crash

Scotland secured a precious first-innings lead against Namibia as 20 wickets tumbled on an action-packed opening day in Windhoek. John Blain and Craig Wright shared nine scalps as the visitors gained a 25-run cushion and six vital points in their quest for a place in the final.
Only three Scotland batsmen managed to reach double figures as their innings hit the depths of 48 for 6. Blain (34) made his first mark on the day with Scotland's top score, adding 47 with Gavin Hamilton (32). Gerrie Snyman, who claimed two early wickets, returned to grab another brace as the innings ended in 54 overs.
However, by the end of the first over of Namibia's reply it was clear that Scotland's 140 wasn't such a meagre total. Blain ripped out three wickets in the first six balls - two with the opening two deliveries of the innings - as Namibia slumped to 4 for 3. A partnership of 31 momentarily halted the clatter before normal service was resumed. Blain added his fourth, removing the dangerous Louis Burger, before Wright claimed his first.
