back of a length, heaved out to deep midwicket
Scorchers vs Strikers, 32nd Match at Adelaide, BBL, Jan 11 2026 - Match Result
Luke Wood has conceded the most runs in an innings (58) in T20s for AS, going past James Bazley's record of 57
This is the highest match aggregate (432) involving Strikers & Scorchers in T20s
Perth Scorchers win by 32 runs and move up to second. This late stand narrowed the margin, but Strikers ended well short. The problem of their season: not enough from the middle order. But it was always going to be a tall order to chase down 232. Mitchell Marsh led the Scorchers' batting effort, backed up by Finn Allen, Josh Inglis, Aaron Hardie and Ashton Turner. Alex Carey and Matt Short gave Strikers hope in the chase, but once Chris Lynn fell things fell away. Cooper Connolly and David Payne good with the ball. Very tough for Strikers to play finals now. Scorchers well placed for a dip at hosting the grand final. That just about wraps things up for tonight. Plenty of cricket still going around the world, including the India-New Zealand ODI. From Gnasher and the scoring team, goodnight and thanks for joining us.

full at the stumps, gets underneath it and swings to deep midwicket
heaved down the ground
well, this is a first! Boyce drives out to deep cover. Evans takes it one handed near the rope and flicks it back in, but collides with a security guard so can't get back into play
a yorker outside off, takes an inside edge and evades Inglis to his left
48 needed off the last. Probably won't get them
Couple of boundaries in that over, but a standout performance from Payne
another cue-end into the off side
thick edge...reaches out for this one, slices it fine of short third
shorter and very wide outside off, but Boyce has walked across the crease
pushed across outside off, Boyce shuffles around the crease, drives and misses
full outside leg, picked up over deep square leg! Terrific shot from Boyce. Actually lands short of the rope
Fielding penalty activated
wide outside off, slower ball, swing and a miss
slower ball on the pads, whipped neatly backward of square
a straight full toss, pumped down to long-on
full outside off, slices this just over backward point
Ellis: "@Alan - As a scorchers fans - i'll own that kiss of death!"
full toss at the pads, swung one bounce to deep midwicket
excellent yorker, at middle, 133kph, jabbed to the off side
Six wickets in 17 balls now. Alan: "Kiss of death from Ellis"
slower ball, full outside off, taken at long-on...Wood dragging it to the leg side. More catching practice
swings to the leg side, only gets fresh air
a one-handed drive square of the wicket, makes strong connection and beats deep point
