So there we go, Pakistan have won the series. Who on earth could have predicted that? More importantly, who on earth would have predicted two surfaces that would have produced just eight days of cricket? Remarkable.
Presentation time...and a hundred silly awards to hand out...apart from a few...bowler of the match to Saeed Ajmal...outstanding performance of the match to Monty Panesar...man of the match is Abdur Rehamn for bowling his side to victory in this fourth innings..."I get a lot of confidence bowling opposite Saeed," he says. they were some double act...usual public relations computer speak from Andrew Strauss..."Ultimately we've been rolled over three innings out of four and the top order need to take that on the chin"...here's Misbah..."A much needed victory for us. The bowlers were outstanding. I had belief in my bowlers."
Quite amazing really, this match, apart perhaps the second and third evenings, was all England, their comeback match, but Pakistan have sensed their chance in the fourth innings and taken it brilliantly.
Well that is a remarkable turnaround from Pakistan...in complete disarray a year ago and now turning over the No.1 team in world cricket. Absolutely stunning win. They piled on the pressure by strangling England's run-scoring opportunities, forced some mistakes and produced several gorgeous deliveries. Rehman and Ajmal wheeling away, the noise around the bat, the atmosphere in the ground, it was exceptionally difficult to bat, and Bob Willis has just said apart from the current Indian line up at its best, nobody could have lived with that bowling.
Prior goes now, trying to have a go. Pushing away from his body and just chipped a catch to cover. 100 Test match wickets for Ajmal...thoroughly deserved
inside edge past short leg and they scramble a run
James Anderson...heaven help you sir...
This is all over now bar the shouting...Pakistan are going to win the series!
another one. Playing back, playing back, playing back. That's all you need to know really. Off spinner past the inside edge, caught on the crease, plumb once more...
now a big off spinner and striking the pad but sliding down, runs away into the off side
done by the doosra, Swann played inside it and got beaten
cut and it's a big outside edge that flies past slip and they get three to third man
We all thought it was Ajmal who would lead the Pakistan charge but it's been Rehman's left-arm orthodox that has torn England apart...amazing cricket...
forward and blocking on off stump
This bowling has just been irresistible, England have been all at sea...
that is absolutely superb flighted delivery draws Broad into the drive and it rips back between bat and pad and clatters the off stump. Brilliant.
huge stride outside off and striking the pad so far outside off, nowhere near lbw
Well is that the game now for Pakistan? Stuart Broad, brilliant throughout the match, can he possible produce something more now when his team most need it...
plumb in front and given out leg before. Playing back, turn past the outside edge, catches him on the knee roll and that's stone dead
down the leg side and it flicks the pad and runs away for four very fine
turned carefully past short leg and they get a run
doosra past the outside edge, another beautiful delivery
swept carefully to deep square leg
Prior went for one over the leg side, got an edge into the ground and it runs into the on side
blocked coming forward
off pad and over short leg
driven hard through the off side, along the ground past point but only two
another cracker from Rehman who's been the star so far here...sharp turn past the outside edge with Trott playing forward
