full, outside off, defended to the off side, point picks it up
Eng Lions vs Indians, Tour Match at Chelmsford, Jul 13 2007 - Ball by Ball Commentary
Perhaps the only player to gain in the final session of play was Jaffer who did well to guard his wicket for 20 overs. In all probability, it could be the same opening pair for the first Test.
That ends a fairly unsatisfactory match for the Indians. The top order, with the exception of Tendulkar, didn't quite get the required runs and practice in the first innings. The biggest worry would be the bowling as it simply wasn't penetrative enough. RP Singh has a good chance of partnering Zaheer at Lord's, with Sreesanth as the third seamer.
Joe Denly, Stuart Broad and Tim Bresnan were the biggest gainers for England Lions. Broad was aptly rewarded with a Test call-up. Owais Shah too was impressive in his knock of 77* as was Strauss, relieved to get runs under his belt.
That's it from us. We hope you enjoyed the coverage. This is Kanishkaa signing off.
