That's it from this game, hop in to the second game between Pune and Kolkata where surprise, surprise, ten Doeschate gets a game!

Presentation:

Gilchrist: Pitch was slower than normal, made it difficult to hit boundaries. Wanted to get to 160 or so which would have been competitive. We have to win every game from here, we are familiar with this scenario and we hope to compete hard.

Dravid: Proud of the way the guys played, they have been doing well all throughout. They responded well while bowling and batting. We hadn't been quite well in the death overs and we sat down and chatted about it, executed the plans well. Timed the chase well, could have been a tricky chase, Watson, Rahane and Samson timed it well. Something special about Samson, I hope he continues to go well.

Cooper is the man of the match: Wasn't bowling last few games, I knew I had to do well here. Wicket was slow and it suited my bowling. We bowled well in partnerships.

Uday: "About Sanju, he has to represent India to get higher price. Isn't it?" Till the previous auction, you could only get into the auction as an Indian player if you had played international cricket. Don't know whether they will change the rules next season.

------------------

This is as comprehensive as it can get. Dravid wanted to bat second because he thought the pitch would become easier to bat second, and he seems to have thought right. Won by eight wickets and with six balls to spare thanks to a brilliant couple of innings from Rahane and Samson after Watson had given them a good start.

Thanks to Prashanth and the 100 others: "Correction - Won by "eight" wickets with "six" balls to spare!!"

James: "Stop playing so well Sanju! I can sense the richer clubs getting their chequebooks ready to make a big play for him next year." Why would you want to deny him what he deserves?

Ronak: "@Suneer: I totally agree with James. I mean I want him to play good cricket but look at what happened to Yusuf Pathan. 3 good seaons with RR and then goes into auction and KKR bought him for 2.4 USD. His batting has slumped big time, he doesn't bowl too much and his fielding was never his forte." One day or the other, the money will come in. It's how he reacts to the adulation that will decide where he goes, whether it's next year or some time later.
