plays the ball back down the pitch to the bowler and that's the end of the days play
Knights vs NW Warriors, at Eglinton, May 30 2017 - Ball by Ball Commentary
With 77 runs still needed for victory the Warriors have declined to take the extra 30 minutes tonight.
Butt and Iroosh has set a good platform for the Warriors and you would have to say on a day that 18 wickets fell, they do seem to be in charge of their own destiny.
With the weather tomorrow looking better then the all out rain that was first forecasted. A few early wickets for the Knights could make it very interesting.
So please join me tomorrow at 11:00am for the first ball, on the final day. Goodnight.
Match State: Stumps - Day 2
10:45am Good Morning and welcome to the final days play here at Eglinton. The Warriors only need another 77 runs to win this "Historic" game.
Although a couple of early wickets from the Knights, will certainly put the cat amongst the covfefe, as they say.
The bad news at the minute is that its been raining here at the ground for the last 3 hours. Its steady although not too heavy.
The Umpires have been out to have a look, the top part of the ground is a little wet. Where the water has run off the covers. You would think that about 90 minutes worth of play will win this one way or another.
Depending on which weather app you look at its either going to rain all day or give us a four hour break in the middle.
Although don't give up heart just yet, I will put my other hat on and become Cricinfo's resident Ireland weather presenter and keep you in the know.
I will be back when we have some news......
Match State: Delay - Day 3 - Play delayed due to rain
11:45am Its still raining. The groundstaff have got the roller out and are trying to get some of the water off the covers.
Yet whilst its still falling out of the sky then seems a bit of a wasted effort.
The last hour today will be from 5:30pm, with only 77 runs needed to win the game. The Umpires are going to give this as long as possible to see if we can get a positive result.
If your missing the commentary, then I believe that there is a small tournament starting in London today. So follow that for a little while and come back in a bit.
1:15pm No real changes here at the ground, its still raining. Lunch is just about to be served here at the ground. Lets hope that the rain stops soon.
2:10pm Well Lunch has come and gone, the rain has definitely got a lot lighter.
The Knights players are wandering around the square, the groundstaff are out with their rollers.
Thr Umpires have been out to have a look. No news of any sign of play yet.
3:00pm Bad news I'm afraid, the rain just hasn't stopped falling today and with the groundstaff estimating that its going to take 3 hours atleast to dry out before we can start.
There is no chance of getting play underway before the 5:30pm cut off. Shame that the weather has put paid to what could have been an exciting finish.
With the bonus points gained in the game, the Warriors will be leading the table. One point ahead of the Knights.
Next Monday sees the start of the second match in the Hanley IPC, when the Leinster Lightning will be visitors to Stormont for a match against the Knights.
We will have ball by ball coverage of the game.
Before then though I'll be back on Sunday, to bring you coverage of the IP50 game between the Knights and the Lightning. So please join me then. This is Justin Smyth saying bye from Eglinton.
