nice way to finish, short ball pulled over square leg and that's the match and the series for South Africa
South Africa vs West Indies, 3rd ODI at Gqeberha, Jan 27 2008 - Ball by Ball Commentary
South Africa won by 7 wickets (with 8 balls remaining)
A fine century from Jacques Kallis sealed the deal for South Africa, cancelling out Marlon Samuels' excellent 98 earlier in the day. West Indies couldn't make enough chances in the field and the home side were always in control. There are two matches left in this series, but it's going to be very hard for West Indies. A whitewash is on the cards at the end of a tough tour.
The players shake hands on the steps and Pollock walks out to clap the supporters for all their singing. He walks around and bows to everyone, before heading off to celebrate the series success with his team-mates. The next match in the series is at Pollock's home ground, Durban, on Friday so that reception will be something to behold. Do join us for that match but for now, from Andrew McGlashan and Martin Williamson, it's goodnight.
The band continues to say goodbye to Shaun Pollock, they have played all day as usual...and Pollock comes out into the balcony. Some by-play from Taylor who aborts his delivery stride
gives himself room and slices high over cover, two men chase it and it doesn't reach the rope. Scores are level
flicked to mid-on and it's too well timed to get a run
driven up to mid-off, they are getting them in singles
short and outside off stump, and too short for the umpire who calls it
low full toss outside off driven through the covers...five runs needed
quick ball, short and Duminy tries to pull but he is late on it, takes a blow on the helmet and needs a moment to compose himself
Another idiot on the pitch...it's been a good atmosphere at the ground too, except for those few who want to run on the ground
short ball banged in, Duminy ducks underneath it
clipped off leg stump out too deep square
drives towards mid-off, not really timed but an easy single
Kallis limping a little now, it's been a warm day in PE
picks off the popular third man area again
The disappointing Edwards is back
full on the stumps, drives sweetly back to the bowler who parries it in his follow through and they get a single
top shot, takes a stride across the crease and flicks through midwicket...there was no stopping that and this has been a perfectly controlled innings from Kallis, if not always thrilling
comes of a thick inside half of the bat and goes down through mid-on
doesn't time his drive into the covers
drifting down the leg side
another easy drive down the ground
driven down the ground on the off side, easily singles on offer and they may as well be inside the ring
Taylor is back with two overs left but this match is lost for West Indies
short, slow and sits up...Duminy manages to pull through square leg
I think we have idiot on the pitch...so a short delay here. It took 30 security guys to get one guy off the field
run to backward point, Duminy wants the single and this time Kallis is nearly caught short at the non-striker's end
