Although competition in both the senior and junior tournaments commenced on Sunday, the 17th Maccabiah was officially only opened tonight, during a superb opening ceremony at Ramat Gan Stadium, attended by more than 40,000 people, including approximately 7000 athletes from 55 countries.
The ICA is proud to announce that Malcolm Speed, Chief Executive Officer of the International Cricket Council (ICC) will be attending the 17th Maccabiah during the second week of the Games.
Malcolm Speed, barrister by profession and former former Chief Executive of Cricket Australia, has been the CEO of the ICC since late 2000 when he succeeded David Richards.
He will be attending the penultimate games of the round robin and will be present at the final and for the bronze medal playoff on Wednesday 20.
The ICA will be hosting a dinner in his honor to be attended by the Ambassadors and / or First Secretaries of all the participating countries, representatives of the 5 teams taking part and other invited guests.
