Fantasy suggestions for the game between Guyana Amazon Warriors and St Kitts & Nevis Patriots

Guyana Amazon Warriors v St Kitts & Nevis Patriots, Tarouba

Our XI: Chris Lynn, Evin Lewis, Nicholas Pooran, Ben Dunk, Shimron Hetmyer, Imran Tahir, Chris Green, Keemo Paul, Sohail Tanvir, Naveen-ul-Haq, Sheldon Cottrell
NOTE: We might not always be able to tip you off about late injury (or other relevant) updates, so do keep an eye out for the toss before making your final picks.
Captain: Sohail Tanvir
Tanvir is the sixth-highest wicket-taker in T20 history. He was the fourth-highest wicket-taker in the PSL earlier this year, with ten wickets at 6.80 per over. In the first game, he took 2 for 25 against Barbados Tridents. Not to forget, he is handy with the bat as well; do not be surprised if he is promoted to up the run rate occasionally.
Vice-captain: Shimron Hetmyer
Hetmyer and Nicolas Pooran form the backbone of the Warriors batting line-up. One of them needs to consistently score for the team to do well. Hetmyer did not have a great CPL last season but has started very well this time. He scored an unbeaten 63 from 44 against a strong Trinbago Knight Riders attack and that should put him in good stead for the remaining matches.
Hot picks
Imran Tahir: Wristspinners are attacking options in the middle overs and are most likely to get wickets. Tahir is a T20 veteran and his googlies are still tough to read. No one has taken as many wickets (237) as Tahir has in the middle overs in the history of T20 cricket. Tahir conceded 40 runs but he did take two wickets in the previous game.
Evin Lewis: Lewis had a strike rate of 149.71 in last year's edition but scored only 265 runs. With Patriots highly dependent on the top three to do the bulk of their scoring, it is worth punting on Lewis and Chris Lynn. However, it is going to be trial by spin and Lewis needs to get through the tough periods.
Value picks
Ben Dunk: Dunk has been among the runs in leagues across the world. He had an excellent PSL, scoring 266 runs at a strike rate of 186.01 and an average of 53.20. Worth picking him because if he gets going he will be among the points for sure.
Keemo Paul: Allrounders are always the best way to go. Paul bats down the order but his cutters and slower balls will be useful in the death. By picking Tanvir and Paul you have many bases covered across both teams. Paul took 11 wickets in last year's edition and had a cameo in the first match, scoring 15 in ten balls and picking up one wicket.
Naveen-ul-Haq: Naveen was the bowler of the first match for Guyana. His slower ones and variations were hard to pick, and he took 2 for 21. Before the batsmen begin to read him and attack him later in the tournament, it is best we punt on him.
Point to note
  • St Kitts' middle-order is weak and they will be highly dependent on the top three and their bowlers. Try to pick them in all their matches.
