The Godfather and Kev are excited and parked up in the hallowed concrete of the NZ Cricket Museum's archive room on day one of the Basin Reserve Test between New Zealand and Sri Lanka, surrounded by a cornucopia of cricketing memorabilia and miscellany. They talk about Brendon McCullum, cricket songs, and the impossibility of international cricket at Whangamata. Then they hat-tip Sir Richard and Sir Garfield and head off to watch the toss.
