The former New South Wales batsman Richard Chee Quee has announced he is retiring from club cricket. He will bow out as the seventh-highest run-scorer in Sydney first grade, totalling almost 11,000 including 21 hundreds.
"When you know it's time, it's time," Chee Quee, 35, told the Sydney Morning Herald. "I've been thinking about it for a while. I've been happy with my form this year but I know my best cricket is behind me. It's the right time. There are a few young players coming through like Usman Khawaja and Paul Greentree."
Chee Quee said he was excited about the next chapter in his life. "I'm looking forward to a two-day weekend," he said. "I'll still be associated with the club, it's in my blood. I'll always be there to lend a hand if they need me."
