There are times when everything goes right for a team and so it is for Team USA in the U19 WCQS being played in Toronto. Day 4 brought some glimmer of hope for the three teams chasing the USA as the Americans had a bye. Instead of gaining four points all teams had to settle for a no result as all games were completely rained out with out a ball being bowled. This means that none of the three teams with a chance to catch the USA, can now reach that goal.
Team USA with the maximum 12 points from three wins cannot be caught and the battle between Cayman Islands, Canada and Bermuda is strictly for the silver medal.
Team USA to their credit took on the top seeded teams and defeated both, one by a crushing eight-wicket victory. Their depth is also reflected in all four individual award categories-
Batting- most runs scored R.Timbawala USA, Bowling-Most wickets taken - A.Rajp with 10.
Player of the tournament to date is A.Rajp , USA and Best fielder category is D.Nathanial, USA
Tomorrow, the final day of competition will see Canada take on Bermuda, while Cayman Islands will try to hand the champions, their first defeat.
