Five uncapped players to watch out for

The BCCI has asked all state associations to submit the names of their uncapped players to be included in the upcoming IPL auction. Once the state associations submit their picks, the BCCI will forward the master list to the eight teams. If even one team shows interest in buying an uncapped player in the auction, he will go under the hammer.

Let's take a look at some of the players that can reap the riches this year at the auctions.

Kedhar Jadhav
This Maharashtra batsman has been instrumental in his state team's success this Ranji season and has the numbers to his credit. It wouldn't be a surprise to see teams vying for this prolific batsman and we may actually witness some fierce competition among the team owners during next month's auction.

Ishwar Pandey
Even though he has been selected for the ongoing NZ tour, Ishwar Pandey will still feature in the uncapped players list, according to the IPL policy where players should have played for India in 2013 in order to have been categorized as 'Capped'. Pandey has attracted a lot of attention in the batsman-dominated domestic pitches and could be in for some fierce rounds at the auction this February. His India selection will only add more interest around his case.

Vijay Zol
Zol has been in terrific form with the India Under-19 team, and led them to victory in the recently concluded Asia Cup. He has also been instrumental in Maharashtra's solid run this Ranji season and the cricketing fraternity is looking forward to watch him defend the U-19 World Cup this February in the Middle East. His Under-19 colleague - Sanju Samson - has already created waves with the Rajasthan Royals in last year's IPL. This year could be Zol's big break.

Unmukt Chand
This former U-19 captain failed to produce runs last season, but he wouldn't be sold off cheaply this time around. He's already become the face of the youngest generation of cricketers in India, and could be a smart buy for franchises looking to connect with a young audience.

Parvez Rasool
Rasool has been central to Jammu and Kashmir's stunning run this Ranji season. He scored 663 runs and picked up 27 wickets, and has quite literally carried J&K into the quarters on his own shoulders. Rasool's consistent efforts won him a call-up to the India squad for the tour to Zimbabwe last year, but he didn't make the playing 11. IPL sides must have already started discussions on how much they can push themselves with the purse to bag him this year.
