Hong Kong beat Antonians Sports Club XI by 7 wickets

Today At FTZ Kaunayake Ground, Hong Kong beat Antonians Sports Club by 7 wickets.

Hong Kong team captain Tabarak Dar won the toss and elected to bowl first. Irfan Ahmed and Roy Lamsam bowled well. First wicket to fell in second over at 5 runs on the board, when Ilyas Gull took a brilliant catch at square leg position. Roy Lamsam's first bowl of his first over went for 4 and second ball he took the wicket. Great reply!!! Skipper Shehan Arvinda was the victim.

Roy and Irfan kept bowling in right area and Roy took another wicket on 3rd ball of his second over. Antonians S. C. 2/13 in 3.3 overs.

Ashan and Vajira stood firmly at crease and stead up the ship. They added 95 runs in third wicket partnrership. At total of 108 Moner Dar got success to break this partnership in 27th over, with a brilliant take by Waqas Barkat behind the stumps.

Hong Kong team players were looking desperate to win and they were really on their toes. In next over a brilliant fielding by Irfan, Run Out!!! Suren Kumara who was just trying to settle down.

Antonians S. C. 4/110. After that a 24 runs partnership between Vijara and Lakmal then Ilyas Gull who was bowling very tight and disciplined took the wicket in his 7th over, Vijara was the batsman . who scored 59 on 99 balls. 5 wickets down for 137 runs in 36th over.

Najeeb Amar bowled extremely brilliant but without luck. In his 5 overs with 1 maiden, he just gave 15 runs, which put a lot of pressure on the opposition and other bowlers took the advantage of that pressure and kept taking wickets.

Another wicket in Ilyas Gull's bag in 38th over, then another run out in the same over. 7 wickets down for 144 after 38 overs.

Nadeem Ahmed who bowled his first spell 6 overs without luck, was given and other opportunity to finished the tail which he did tremendously grabbing last 3 wickets in his two overs.

Antonians Sports Club were all out 165 in 43.5 overs.

For Hong Kong Roy Lamsam and Irfan started the innings. 37 runs partnership between Roy and Irfan which was a good start. Roy got out adding 7 runs from his account and Irfan who is really in good form kept hitting all around the park. With 8 fours and 2 sixes Irfan finished his inning with the score of 61 on 61 balls. He was second batsmen to get out at Total of 87 in 17 overs.

Zain Abbas who came after Roy hold his end tight, played beautifully with a great responsibility. Some classic boundries by Zain and Butt Hussain joined him after Irfan and scored a brilliant 56 on just 41 balls. Zain just thrown his wicket while Hong Kong needed 2 runs to win.

Zain Abbas and Butt Hussain added 78 runs partnership which was a very solid partnership. They both played with great responsibility and they were electrifying in running between the wickets.

Butt Hussain hit the victory shot with a beautiful six over mid wicket.

Hong Kong 171 for 3, won by 7 wickets in 32.2 overs.
