Hong Kong team departs for ACC Trophy 2006

The Hong Kong team departed today for Kuala Lumpur to contest the ACC Trophy 2006.

The team will see this as a "make or break" tournament following a string of disappointing results in recent years, including the ACC Trophy 2004 when they failed to progress past the first round.

Hong Kong will be seeking to reach the final of the 2006 event and in doing they will gain access to a pool of additional funding from the ACC/ICC to cover future coaching and travel expenses. But their first objective will be to get through the first round of matches in which they will face Bhutan, Myanmar, Nepal and Kuwait starting on 15th August 2006.
