Stats - Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav enter the IPL record books

Mumbai Indians' power-packed batting performance failed to put them in the IPL 2021 playoffs, but broke a number of records

235 for 9 - Mumbai Indians recorded their highest total in the IPL, surpassing the 223 for 6 against Kings XI Punjab (now Punjab Kings) in 2017. It is the highest total by any team in the IPL in the UAE, going past Delhi Capitals' 228 for 4 against Kolkata Knight Riders in Sharjah last year. Mumbai Indians' 235 is also the highest total by any team in the IPL against Sunrisers Hyderabad.
16 - Number of balls Ishan Kishan needed to complete his half-century, the fastest for Mumbai Indians in the IPL. The franchise had four individual half-centuries coming in 17 balls before this game, including one by Kieron Pollard against Chennai Super Kings earlier this season. Pollard's fifty during the first leg was the previous fastest fifty by any player this season.
16 - Kishan's 16-ball half-century is also the fastest by any player in the IPL in the UAE. The previous fastest was off 17 balls by Nicholas Pooran in 2020 in Dubai, also against Sunrisers. Kishan's effort is also the second-fastest fifty in the IPL against Sunrisers, behind Yusuf Pathan's 15-ball knock in 2014.
2 - Kishan completed his half-century by the fourth over of Mumbai Indians' innings. Only one player before him completed a fifty in the IPL by this stage - KL Rahul in 2.5 overs against Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) in 2018, and again, in four overs against Super Kings in 2019.
83 for 1 - Mumbai Indians' total in the powerplay was their second highest in the IPL, behind the 84 for no loss against Daredevils in 2018. It was also the second highest against Sunrisers in the IPL, after the 86 for 1 in 2014 by Kings XI Punjab.
131 for 3 - Mumbai Indians' total at the end of the tenth over, the joint-highest by any team in the IPL. Kings XI Punjab scored exactly 131 for 3 by the tenth over in 2014, also against Sunrisers.
30 - Fours hit by Mumbai Indians during their innings, the second highest by a team in an IPL innings. The highest is 31 by the Daredevils against Gujarat Lions in 2017.
19 - Instances of two players scoring 75-plus runs in an IPL innings, but the effort by Kishan (84) and Suryakumar Yadav (82) was the first for Mumbai Indians. It was also the first instance where two batters scored 75-plus runs at a strike rate of 200 or more.
153 - Runs collectively scored by the two teams inside the powerplay in this match, the second most during the powerplay overs in an IPL game, behind the tally of 170 between Super Kings and Kings XI Punjab in 2014. Mumbai Indians and Sunrisers aggregated 236 runs by the tenth over, the most an IPL match at that stage.
