Karachi, Sept 30: The Karachi City Cricket Association (KCCA)
officials on Thursday said they were still willing to cooperate with
the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) ad hoc committee.
The reaction came soon after the Sindh High Court restrained the PCB
from interfering in the lawful activities of the KCCA.
President of the KCCA, Nusrat Azeem, said they would extend full
support to the PCB for the promotion of the game in city.
"We never wanted to contest the case in the court of law. But we were
pushed into it. We went there to get our rights," he said.
He added that the objective of the PCB and the KCCA was to promote the
game and for that the latter was willing to extend full support.
Secretary of the KCCA, Prof Sirajul Islam Bukhari, said the court
decision vindicates our position.
"But have put everything behind us and now we are looking forward for
a productive relationship with the PCB," he remarked.
He said when the objective of the two bodies is the same, they should
work together to achieve the task. "The PCB will always find us by
their side to promote the sport and help in other matters, if
consulted.
