Lord MacLaurin has been re-elected as Chairman of the ECB (English and Wales Cricket Board). He was unopposed for the position, which he will fill for two more years.
63 year old Baron MacLaurin of Knebworth was elected as the first chairman of the new ECB in 1997 and has overseen a period of great change. "The successful introduction of England contracts and a change to the governance of the ECB, and the expansion of the game at grass roots level are all significant developments which the ECB can take great pride in," he commented.
"Our task now is to build on these achievements and ensure that cricket retains its position as the country's number one sport.
"I am very pleased to have been given the opportunity to continue in my role and look forward to the next two years with a real sense of optimism."
