As expected, Western Warriors batsman Damien Martyn and versatile Tasmanian Tigers bowler Colin Miller have been recalled to the Australian team to play New Zealand in the first Test in Auckland starting Saturday.
Martyn will play his first Test in over six years to replace Ricky Ponting, who required surgery on an ankle injured while fielding in the Carlton & United Series final at the SCG in February.
Miller, who was always a big chance to play on a turning Eden Park wicket, replaces Victorian swing bowler Damien Fleming who is hobbling with a knee injury.
The Australians are seeking their eighth consecutive Test victory, while leg-spinner Shane Warne needs only four more wickets to equal the Australian record held by fast-bowling legend Dennis Lillee
