Karachi, July 24: Pakistan captain Moin Khan spared from surgery on
his right knee after the medical tests confirmed that he was only
suffering from muscular pain.
The wicketkeeper said from London on Monday that he has been advised
two weeks of extensive exercises and physiotherapy for the stiff
muscles.
"Dayle Naylor (former Pakistan physiotherapist), is supervizing my
exercises. But I am glad that there is nothing serious which needed
surgery," he said on telephone.
The pugnacious wicketkeeper added that he would be returning from
London on Aug 6 and would join the training camp. However, he said he
was still uncertain about his participation in the Singapore
triangular.
"I will have to see my fitness level before declaring myself
available," Moin said.
The skipper added that Inzamam-ul-Haq also consulted the specialist
and was advised against surgery to his bone growth in left heel. He
said Inzamam has been prescribed some exercises and medicines.
The chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Lt Gen Tauqir Zia was
delighted with the news.
"It's a great news. But we have to be careful while considering them
for the Singapore tour. Obviously, the inclusion of the two solve our
team leadership problem but at the same time we can't jeopardize their
appearance in the Toronto series (against India) and home series
against England," he said
