Mushfiqur Rahim to lead Bangladesh

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) on Monday announced a 19-member squad including five officials for the upcoming first-ever Afro-Asian Under-19 Cricket tournament in India. Mushfiqur Rahim, who played one Test against England in May 2005, will lead the side in the tournament which starts at Vishakhapatnam on November 19. India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe and South Africa are the other teams taking part in the tournament that will be used as a warm-up competition for next year's under-19 World Cup to be held in Sri Lanka.
Bangladesh will play hosts India in one of three matches on the opening day and take on Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, Pakistan and South Africa on November 20, 22, 23 and 25 respectively. The final is slated for November 27.
The Under-19 cricketers have been requested to report to Shahidul Islam Ratan, the logistic officer, at Bangladesh Krira Shikkya Protisthan on November 10. Faruque Ahmed, the chief selector, has been named manager and Alister de Winter is the coach.
Squad: Mushfiqur Rahim (captain), Tamim Iqbal, Mehrab Hossain, Mehdi Hassan, Saquib Al Hassan, Nazmus Sadat, Sohrawardi Shuvo, Nabil Samad, Marshall Ayub, Humayun Kabir, Aslam Khan, Nazmul Hossain Milon, Kamrul Islam, Dollar Mahmud.
Officials: Faruque Ahmed (manager), Alister de Winter (coach), Nazmul Abedin Fahim (assistant coach), Sam Byrne (physio), Mohammed Salahuddin (computer analyst).
