Test opener and Vice Captain of Pakistan Cricket Team Aamer Sohail has been forced to cut short tour to South Africa due to hairline fracture of his left hand thumb. The tour Management Committee has requested PCB to send Mushtaq Ahmed to strengthen the spin department. Mushtaq Ahmed had earlier come back from Zimbabwe-South Africa tour before the start of Triangular series. PCB Selection Committee comprising of Mr. Zaheer Abbas and Shafique Ahmed has accepted the recommendation of the tour Management Committee.
In the meawhile Shoaib Akhtar has also been forced to withdraw from the team on account of a knee injury and has returned home a few days ago.
Pakistan's off-spinner Saqlain Mushtaq is unlikely to play in the next couple of one day games owing to an injured finger which was damaged twice during practice sessions on the tour.
The team after winning two ODIs against Sri Lanka is in high spirit. The players thank all their well wishers and supporters for sending Eid Greetings.
