Only two matches were played on the second weekend of the 2006-07 HKCA Sunday League with KCC's two teams, Infidels and Templars, scoring victories.
At Kowloon Cricket Club, Templars hosted Wanderers on their return to the HKCA Sunday League. Batting first, Templars struggled to a score of 190 all out from 46 overs with skipper Rohan Boghani (50) and A Mohammed (54*) providing the major contributions. For Wanderers, Michael Jamieson and Hugo Davison each claimed three wickets.
Martin Holcombe and Mark Kellock each hit 40 runs for Wanderers but their efforts were not enough as Templars dismissed the HKCC team for 154 in the 42nd over of their reply. Afzaal Haider grabbed the wickets of both top-scorers in his 13 over spell while P Shah claimed five wickets for himself as Templars wrapped the victory by 36 runs.
KCC's second team Infidels, also enjoyed a winning start to their 2006-07 campaign as they beat Millenium CC by 65 runs in a low scoring match at Mission Road.
Infidels batted first but they were dismissed for just 149 in the 45th over. Skipper Manoj Cheruparambil led Infidel's scoring with 30 but his team's progress was thwarted by Maqsood and Don Mohammed who claimed three wickets apiece. Ghulam Mustafa then ripped the heart out of the Millenium batting line-up as he claimed five wickets for just 20 runs as Millenium were routed for just 84 runs in 31 overs.
Scheduled matches at Hong Kong Cricket Club, between Scorpions and Sri Lanka Club, and Po Kong Village Road, between Little Saw Wan CC and Optimists, were both abandoned due to unplayable ground conditions.
