Port-of-Spain - Barbadian statistician Harold Eastmond has
published his seventh book on West Indies and international
cricket.
The Nemwil Millennium Record of International and Regional
Cricket 2000 was launched yesterday to coincide with the
historic inaugural Test between West Indies and Zimbabwe.
The 351-page book, compiled and edited by the 37-year-old
Eastmond, includes a preview of the three-nation One-day
International series in the Caribbean between West Indies,
Zimbabwe and Pakistan.
Also included are chapters on the ten great cricketers of the
century, individual batting and bowling records, a regional
limited-overs players' guide and regional one-day cricket
records between 1976 and 2000.
There are also chapters on regional first-class records between
1966 and 2000, team records, One-Day International facts and
firsts and World Cup records 1975-1999.
Eastmond said the book takes a look at cricket in the 21st
Century.
It has several action photos of international cricketers.
'This book is a culmination of my other six books. It is the
first that covers international and regional cricket records in
the same publication,' said Eastmond, who published his first
book in 1994.
'I thought it important to produce such a book at this time, at
the start of the new millennium which ironically starts a new
chapter in West Indies' cricket with a new captain and a new
management team.'
The book will be available throughout the Caribbean during the
2000 Cable and Wireless international home series.
