Prenelan Subrayen, the 19-year-old KwaZulu-Natal offspinner, has been re-instated by Cricket South Africa to bowl in all levels of cricket.
His action had been found to be illegal but after a period of rehabilitation he was re-tested and his action had been sufficiently modified.
Subrayen has played three first-class matches, taking six wickets at 30.50 and eight wickets in 10 List A matches but his right-arm action was tested by the Australian Institute of Sport and by the Sports Science Institute of South Africa and deemed illegal.
His situation was complicated by a serious dislocation of the shoulder several years ago but rehabilitation under the direction of the KwaZulu-Natal Cricket Union and CSA's High Performance personnel has corrected his problem.
"Prenelan can thus resume his bowling career with immediate effect," Corrie van Zyl, CSA General Manager: Cricket, said.
Subrayen is a promising cricketer having played 24 Youth ODIs for South Africa Under-19s. He took seven wickets at just 14.42 at the 2012 Under-19 World Cup, helping South Africa to third-place.
