Records tumble at Napier and a thousand wickets

One-Day International history was made in the second one-dayer in Napier when Saeed Anwar was dismissed first ball of the match by Daryl Tuffey. This followed Wasim Akram's first ball-of-the-match dismissal of Adam Parore at Auckland and was the first time the feat had ever been achieved in successive One-Day Internationals.
Tuffey was just the third New Zealand player to take a wicket with the first ball of the match and this short list reads:

Cairns came close to producing a unique feat in the following match at Napier when he dismissed Campbell from the first legitimate ball of the game after bowling a wide first up.
In the match at Napier, New Zealand used just five bowlers in their full 50 overs - Tuffey, Chris Martin, James Franklin, Daniel Vettori and Chris Harris.
By no means unusual, it was the 25th occasion that New Zealand had used just five bowlers to bowl the allotted overs (55 and 60 on some occasions) but it was just the seventh time since 1990 that this had happened. It was also three years since the previous instance, also at Napier, against Zimbabwe in 1997/98.
The bowlers on that occasion were Shayne O'Connor, Chris Cairns, Dion Nash, Daniel Vettori and Chris Harris.
Speaking of Harris, he became New Zealand's greatest wicket taker in One-Day Internationals when he had Shahid Afridi caught by Nathan Astle in the game at Napier. By the fourth match of the series Harris had extended his tally to 162 wickets and the table now reads as follows:

Stephen Fleming also set a new New Zealand mark when he caught Yousuf Youhana at Napier. It was his 67th catch in One-Day Internationals, passing Martin Crowe's record. After the fourth one-dayer the table read:

Craig McMillan registered his maiden One-Day International century in the fourth one-dayer at Christchurch. It was achieved with a six off the last ball of the innings, but only after Saqlain Mushtaq had bowled two no-balls in the over, enabling McMillan to regain the strike. McMillan's hundred came off just 75 balls, equalling Chris Cairns' record as the fastest for New Zealand - also achieved at Christchurch.

McMillan hit five sixes in his innings, all coming from the last 26 balls he faced. He hit four from his last eleven balls and three from five balls in the last over of the innings. It was the second time McMillan had hit five sixes in an ODI innings, although on the previous occasion they were his only boundaries. He hit six fours in his century at Christchurch.

Nathan Astle and Roger Twose put on 101 for the second wicket at Christchurch, the seventh time that they had combined for a century partnership in One-Day Internationals. The list is:

The partnership between Astle and Twose was a New Zealand record for the second wicket against Pakistan and this was followed by a sixth wicket record against Pakistan when Harris assisted McMillan in an unbroken partnership of 118.
This was only the third occasion that New Zealand has posted two century stands in the same One-Day International and Nathan Astle has been involved on each occasion:
