No. 10: Shane Warne
The specialist spinner in the former Australia captain's Ashes XI: a man with over 700 Test wickets
"Everyone knows how skilful he was but few people know how competitive he was. He couldn't accept losing and he couldn't accept anyone beating him. He was a good man to have around when the games were in the balance"

Best performance
England led by 99 in the first innings, and Ricky Ponting brought on Shane Warne in the seventh over, the final over of the second day. He struck with his second ball, a legspinner that pitched outside off and turned in so much that it beat Andrew Strauss' attempt to pad it away and crashed into the stumps. On day three, Brett Lee struck thrice to reduce England to 31 for 4. Warne bowled unchanged from one end, and finished with figures of 6 for 46 off 23.1 overs, a ten-for in the match, and one short of becoming the first to 600 Test wickets. England were dismissed for 182, but Australia fell short of their target of 282 by three runs - Warne was hit wicket on 42 and ninth out.
