Pakistan Cricket Board's (PCB) most pampered as well as most
controversial player Shoaib Akhtar, had his first session in the
training camp Thursday but was not exposed before the media by the
team management.
Injury-prone Shoaib, who quit the team in England for local club
Lashings, took part in the evening session. He, however, didn't bowl
at full throttle and understandably though as he was coming from
different and more friendly conditions.
Shoaib, a mediocre performer at Test level, was not allowed to talk to
the media as manager Yawar Saeed said first he wanted to have a chat
with the paceman. "I haven't had a chance to talk to him myself. Let
me talk to him first then we will see when he is available to talk to
you guys," he said. Also joining the training camp Thursday was
paceman Mohammad Akram.
