Shepherd to officiate in his 50th Test
England's David Shepherd, who will be officiating in his 50th Test has
been nominated as the neutral umpire for the first Test between India
and South Africa, to be played at Mumbai from Feb 24 to 28. He will
stand along with India's Srinivas Venkatragavan. India's AV
Jayaprakash has been nominated to stand in the second Test at
Bangalore to be played from March 2 to 6. His partner however is yet
to decided by the ICC.
Subba Row is match referee
Former England opening batsman Raman Subba Row will be the
International Cricket Council match referee for the forthcoming Test
and limited overs series between India and South Africa.
Row, who was the manager of the England team that visited India in
1981-82, will also be the match referee for the triangular series in
Sharjah to be held from March 22 and 31, featuring India, Pakistan and
South Africa.
