It's a three-cornered battle for the top spot in the Observer-Bata
Most Popular Schoolboy Cricketer of the Year and indications are that
there will be a flood of votes for the front runners - Eashan
Abeysinghe of Ananda, Thushan Amerasuriya of Royal and Muditha
Maduwantha of D. S. Senanayake College.
Eashan Abeysinghe leads for the second successive week with 5,628
votes - just 197 votes ahead of second placed Thushan Amerasuriya who
has 5,431 votes. Muditha Maduwantha who was second last week has
dropped down one place and is third with 5,219 votes.
The last coupon appeared in The Observer of Friday, April 9 and
voting on coupon number 12 will end on April 15 and the results of
the competition will appear in the Sunday Observer of April 18.
In the Most Popular Outstation Schoolboy Cricketer of the year, Kasun
Bulathsinghala of Maris Stella leads with 3,538 votes from his
schoolmate Ishan Mutaliph who has 1,974 votes after count on coupon
number eleven.
Observer readers are requested to send in the votes on coupon number
12 as soon as possible to enable us to publish the results in the
Sunday Observer of April 18.
