WEST INDIES v ENGLAND 1993-94

At Port-of Spain, March 6

15-Apr-1995
At Port-of Spain, March 6. England won by five wickets, their target having been revised to 201 from 40 overs. Toss: West Indies.
With the series already decided, this was a hollow occasion to which West Indies contributed by resting both Haynes and Ambrose. England reduced the margin to 3-2, but their cricket was impressive only by comparison with their previous two games, although Lewis bowled better than at any stage of the tour and Salisbury's leg-spin genuinely troubled good batsmen.
A rumbustious 84 by Simmons ensured a useful total of 250, but rain in the early stages of England's reply reduced the requirement to 201 from 40 overs. Stewart, with some vivid strokeplay, scored 53 from 38 balls in his rush to ensure England would be up with the asking-rate if further rain fell. After he was bowled in the 13th over, Atherton and Hick saw them home with something to spare.
Man of the Match: A. J. Stewart.
