Ryan Hinds, the best teenaged batsman in the country and captain of
the Young West Indies team, has been named in the Barbados squad for
their final Busta Cup cricket match against Trinidad & Tobago.
The 18-year-old left-handed batsman who has three hundreds at the
youth level, has been chosen in a squad of 13 for the match slated to
start tomorrow at Queen?s Park Oval. Big, fast bowler Patterson
Thompson has been left out of the squad that toured Dominica for the
fourth round match against the Windwards which Barbados won by ten
wickets.
Another teenager, tall, left-arm spinner Sulieman Benn has not played
since the Leewards match and he is expected to be left out once more
along with either Roland Holder or Floyd Reifer. Holder and Reifer,
both of whom have Test experience, have struggled all season and it is
almost certain that one of them will be omitted.
The squad will be chosen from: Philo Wallace (captain), Sulieman Benn,
Courtney Browne, Hendy Bryan, Sherwin Campbell, Pedro Collins, Adrian
Griffith, Ryan Hinds, Roland Holder, Ryan Hurley, Dave Marshall, Dayne
Maynard, Floyd Reifer.
