South Africa v Pakistan, 2013-14

Wisden's review of the third ODI between South Africa v Pakistan, 2013-14

At Centurion, November 30, 2013. South Africa won by four wickets. Toss: South Africa. One-day international debut: H. Davids.
Vernon Philander's return to the 50-over side - he had played only one match, 22 months previously, since August 2008 - produced three early wickets, as Pakistan collapsed to 97 for seven. They might have been rolled for 120, but for a determined display from Misbah-ul-Haq, who was still there at the end after facing 107 deliveries. The only support of note came from Abdur Rehman, who made 22 in an hour during an eighth-wicket stand of 51. Still, 179 looked inadequate, and South Africa made no mistake this time, steaming home with 68 balls to spare, despite another fine spell from Saeed Anwar, which slowed things down in the middle.
Man of the Match: V. D. Philander. Man of the Series: Saeed Ajmal.
