The year-long constitutional review being undertaken by Zimbabwe Cricket is almost completed, according to a report in this weekend's Independent newspaper.
Tavengwa Mukuhlani, the chairman of the ZC Constitutional Review and Transition Committee, told the newspaper that his committee had agreed on a proposed amended constitution and will soon be approaching provincial associations to obtain their input and approval for the changes.
"We have set the framework for a new constitution," he said. "In terms of the groundwork, we have gone very far. We have looked at everything, including the Sports and Recreation Commission recommendations and the national constitution. By the time we get to the AGM in August, the issue of the constitution will be done."
Asked about the subject of integration, Mukuhlani said that was no longer an issue. "There is no work with regards to integration now. As you are aware, we are now fully integrated in our cricket, and the mandate of the integration committee has fallen away. It was a board decision that what remained to be looked at on the integration side had to be shifted to the constitutional review."
