440- Virat Kohli's aggregate in this series, which is the highest by an India captain in a Test series in England. He went past Mohammad Azharuddin's tally of 426 runs in the 1990 series. His tally is currently the fourth-highest by an India player in a series in England. With two matches yet to be played in the series, Kohli could target Rahul Dravid's 602 runs in 2002. He has already set the record of highest series aggregate by an India captain in series in Australia and South Africa on the last two tours.
23- Number of centuries for Kohli in Tests and he has them in 118 innings. Only three batsmen have got to the mark in fewer innings than Kohli. Don Bradman leads by a distance with 59 innings while Sunil Gavaskar and Steven Smith took 109 and 110 innings respectively. Kohli equals Virender Sehwag's centuries tally and is now the joint fourth-highest century-maker for India.
521- The target set by India, is their highest ever against England. The previous highest target they set was 500 at The Oval in 2007. Overall, this is the fifth highest target to chase for England at home and the highest in last 40 years.

2013- Last time Cheteshwar Pujara was part of a century stand in Tests played in England, Australia, New Zealand or South Africa, that came against South Africa at Durban in the Boxing Day Test of 2013. India had 11 century partnerships between these two instances and Pujara was part of none of them. He shared a 113-run stand with Kohli in the second innings.
6- Instances of India players doing the all-round double of scoring a fifty and taking a five-wicket haul in a Test in England. Hardik Pandya joined Lala Amarnath, Vinoo Mankad, Kapil Dev and Bhuvneshwar Kumar (twice) in doing so. Incidentally, all these six instances have come either at Lord's or at Trent Bridge. Pandya is also the first India player in last four years apart from R Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja to achieve the double.
