The Derbyshire seamer finished with 5 for 21 as the Lions dismissed the hosts for 214 on day one

Pat Brown claimed a hat-trick on his way to a five-wicket haul as the England Lions enjoyed a dominant opening day of their second tour game against a Cricket Australia XI in Brisbane.
Henry Hunt was his first victim, edging more conventionally to James Coles at second slip, before Jack Clayton was bowled shouldering arms. The Derbyshire right-armer was then wheeling away to celebrate his hat-trick when Hugo Burdon edged behind to wicketkeeper James Rew. Brown's figures were 5 for 21 from eight overs as the home side were bowled out for 214.
Brown, bowling first change, ran through the top order and had already had opener Nivethan Radhakrishnan caught by Coles from a rising delivery before securing his hat-trick.

Bangladesh are one win away from direct qualification for this year's Women's ODI World Cup after they beat West Indies by 60 runs in the second ODI in Basseterre on Tuesday. It was Bangladesh's first win against West Indies in any format as they levelled the series 1-1 after West Indies had won the first game by nine wickets on Sunday.
Bangladesh are now in seventh place in the ODI Women's Championship points table with 21 points, the same as New Zealand who are placed sixth. The top five teams from that table and hosts India will gain direct entry into the ODI World Cup and the the third ODI between West Indies and Bangladesh will be the final game of this Women's Championship cycle. If Bangladesh win the final game or there is a no result on Friday, they will overtake New Zealand and get direct qualification for the ODI World Cup for the first time.

Speedster Riley Meredith shook up Sydney Sixers' top-order in a ferocious opening spell before Hobart Hurricanes held off a late rally to set up a home BBL grand final.
With Sixers chasing 174 in the Qualifier at Bellerive Oval, Meredith bent his back and rattled a batting line-up no longer with the services of Steven Smith. Sixers were in disarray at 5 for 3 before Kurtis Patterson, Jordan Silk and Lachlan Shaw provided fight.

Glenn Maxwell may not be touring Sri Lanka, but in a silver lining he'll be part of the BBL finals after Melbourne Stars' remarkable regular season turnaround was complete with a comprehensive victory over Hobart Hurricanes at the MCG.
Stars needed a win to leapfrog Perth Scorchers into fourth place and qualify for the finals. They took care of business against a Hurricanes team with little to play for.

Well, how do you sum that up? A madcap two sessions of cricket on the third day saw 17 wickets fall. Pakistan lost seven for 48, with Jomel Warrican registering the third-best figures for a visiting bowler in Pakistan. And yet, with half an hour to go for tea, Pakistan's spinners had wrapped up a 127-run victory, skittling West Indies out for 123 in 36.3 overs to go 1-0 up in the series. Sajid Khan and Abrar Ahmed were the chief architects, taking nine of West Indies' ten wickets as the visitors' challenge appeared to melt away along with the solidity of the playing strip.
West Indies had about 15 overs to face before lunch, and Pakistan just about made victory safe in this time. The visitors began with positive intent, having realised that poking and prodding would get them nowhere. It saw them through the first four overs, but as Sajid said yesterday, the strategy was to attack with the ball and defend with the field. Brathwaite employed the slog sweep to good effect so Pakistan had a fielder at deep midwicket, and it was him that the opener picked out to give Pakistan their first breakthrough.

In a high-scoring contest that produced over 650 runs and two superb hundreds from R Smaran and Dhruv Shorey, it was a 42-ball 79 from Abhinav Manohar that made the difference as Karnataka edged Vidarbha in a thriller to clinch the Vijay Hazare Trophy in Vadodara.
That it became a thriller was down to Harsh Dubey's 63 off 30 balls after Karun Nair's dream run in the tournament ended. Nair was dismissed for only the second time in eight innings in the tournament when Prasidh Krishna knocked him over for 27. Nair finished with a chart-topping 779 runs at an eye-popping average of 389.50.

Before he departs for his first Test tour, Cooper Connolly stepped up under pressure as Perth Scorchers' unlikely bid for finals remained alive after a tense victory over Adelaide Strikers.
The finals hopes of both teams were remarkably revived after Melbourne Renegades' improbable victory earlier over Brisbane Heat. Scorchers needed to chase 162 in 18 overs to leapfrog Renegades and they did it relatively easy at the end with Connolly slamming consecutive sixes to finish the job in the 17th over.
