Nottinghamshire fended off a strong fightback by Worcestershire to complete a three-wicket win which keeps them at the heart of the race for the Rothesay County Championship title.
Chasing a target of 136 at Visit Worcestershire New Road, Haseeb Hameed's side dipped to 83 for 6 before the lower-middle order stood tall to take them to 136 for 7. After Ben Slater held the chase together early on with a resolute 36 off 94 balls, Liam Patterson-White (23) and Lyndon James (17 not out) held their nerve with crucial contributions when it mattered most.

Saransh Jain bagged his second successive five-wicket haul, while Kumar Kartikeya finished with a four-for as the Central Zone spinners ran through South Zone on the opening day of the Duleep Trophy final.
Under cloudy skies and on a surface with a greenish tinge, Jain picked 5 for 49 and Kartikeya returned 4 for 53 to bowl out South Zone for 149 in 63 overs at BCCI's Centre of Excellence. In reply, the Central Zone openers Danish Malewar and Akshay Wadkar were steady in their approach before bad light ended the first day early.

Jayden Seales' four-wicket haul and Amir Jangoo's unbeaten half-century set up a crucial six-wicket win for Antigua and Barbuda Falcons over Guyana Amazon Warriors on Wednesday. The win confirmed Falcons' place in the CPL 2025 playoffs, with 11 points from ten matches.
After Falcons chose to bowl first, Seales struck early and often, ripping through Amazon Warriors' top order with pace. His opening burst included Moeen Ali falling in the fourth over, followed by the key wickets of Ben McDermott and Shimron Hetmyer in the final over of the powerplay, leaving Amazon Warriors reeling at 26 for 3.

South Africa 97 for 5 (7.5 overs) beat England 54 for 5 (5 overs) by 14 runs via DLS method
Don't read too much into it, but South Africa took the lead in the three-match T20I series against England after winning a game initially reduced to nine overs a side by batting for 7.5 and then defending an adjusted five-over target.
Wet conditions in Cardiff stalked the match throughout as play began two hours and 20 minutes after the scheduled 6.30pm start, and was then interrupted with seven balls remaining in South Africa's innings.

Lancashire Women won an exciting rain-affected Metro Bank One Day Cup match against Warwickshire Women at Sale by five wickets.
Warwickshire had posted 283 for 7 from their 50 overs but the Lancashire innings was halted halfway through the sixth over with the score 20 for 1 due to increasingly heavy rain. Set a revised target of 172 to win in 22 overs, a thrilling partnership of 106 off 73 balls between Gaby Lewis and Seren Smale set Lancashire on their way with victory achieved with five balls to spare.

Nottinghamshire advanced to the threshold of a vital Rothesay County Championship victory over Worcestershire on a heavily rain-affected third day at Visit Worcestershire New Road.
The visitors' seam attack excelled for the second time in the match as the home side followed their first innings 182 all out with 160. Lyndon James took five for 35, passing 100 first-class wickets in the process, and Josh Tongue added four for 52 (seven for 111 in the match).
