Full commentary

Sunil Narine, Knight Riders Captain: We needed our batting to come up today, it happened, I don't think we did a fantastic job with ball. I think it's a good pitch and they obviously batted well. If we are not picking up wickets, we are allowing batting team to come into the game. Asalanka played a brilliant role, having left hander allows to bat deep and helps counteract spinners. At the end someone has to win, someone has to lose. We could have probably executed one or two balls, because it came too close.

Sikandar Raza, Dubai Capitals Captain: I have got a scan (of my hand), landed on the carpet and didn't slide so the hand was quite sore and swelled very fast. I was happy about that our heads didn't go down; we did a lot of things wrong in the field but in last fiver overs bowlers came back and that's where momentum shifted, and we took that momentum into batting.

Gulbadin Naib, Player of the Match: Me and Shai were just looking to rotate strike at one stage and after 14th over, we shifted the momentum. T20 should be entertaining for crowd. If you look at opposition and if they look worried, it means you're doing well. I'm available to bat at any position. As an athlete, you must prepare for any situation and not give excuse to your captain, and this is something I have always carried in my career.

What an entertaining game, just like the one last night, going down to the wire and keeping us on the edge of our seats. An impressive win by Dubai Capitals. They were better and more disciplined with the ball, controlling the extras, while Knight Riders weren't as consistent, bowling too many full tosses, missing their targets and cracking under pressure in key moments. Shai Hope anchored the chase magnificently and Gulbadin Naib found his groove after a couple of overs, never looking back. He hit plenty of muscular strokes down the ground, including some big ones. Knight Riders posted a respectable total but the difference in bowling was clear between the two teams. As a result of this fantastic run-chase, Dubai Capitals climb to second place with eight points while Knight Riders remain on six

Holder to Hope, FOUR runs

Slowing the game down. Banged in short on middle, he swivels and clubs a pull to deep backward square for a four! Finishes the game in style and this has been such a clinical run-chase.

Holder to Shanaka, 1 bye

Wide yorker, unable to lay bat on it but they will run anyway, and keeper fails to hit the stumps at striker's end. He was struggling and a direct hit was the need of the hour and would have added to the drama

Holder to Hope, 1 run

Yorker on sixth stump line, scythes it away to deep point, Ali Khan quickly hunts it down

Holder to Hope, FOUR runs

Nobody moved. Half-volley outside off, unleashes a cracking shot over cover and it sped away for four. Served on a plate and he accepts it gleefully

19.1
Holder to Hope, no run

Over the wicket, wide yorker, close to the guideline, this time he gets the decision in his favor; it was on the line and Shanaka moved across a touch

Russell to Shanaka, 2 runs

Fires in a yorker and follows him as he steps away to the on side, firmly pumped away to midwicket and comes back for the second. Started off really well but got predictable and Shanaka found a way to score behind square

Russell to Shanaka, SIX runs

Short of a length around the line off, shimmies down leg, gives himself room and cracks it up and over cover for a superb boundary. Broke the back of the chase with these wonderful hits

Russell to Shanaka, FOUR runs

Shanaka into the act! Goes deep and lofts the full-toss over the keeper's head for a four, two fielders running back in vain

Russell to Shanaka, FOUR runs

Improvisation pays off. Shuffles across his stumps and toe-ended to deep fine leg boundary, this is magnificent, much-needed boundary. Need a couple more to stay in the hunt

Oh, wow, almost demolished him this perfect yorker, inches away from hitting the leg pole, went between his legs and to the keeper

Russell to Shanaka, 1 bye

Rattles the stumps with a searing yorker on off but it doesn't matter, ball ricochets to the off-side and they take a run

Over the wicket, nutmegged with a pitch-perfect in swinging yorker and man, oh man, he will admonish himself for overstepping at such a critical juncture of the game

Stands across his stumps and Hope sticks to his guns, nails the wide yorker and is having a chat with umpire for that earlier wide, not happy with the call but it's a polite inquiry

Excellent yorker, didn't look like it was outside the guideline and Holder has all the right to be flabbergasted. touch and go, close to the marker

Holder to Gulbadin, OUT

Lures him with the bait and he bites it. Takes the pace off, lands it full on off and he would definitely try to smash it downtown but this time he didn't catch the middle and mistimed it to Russell at long-on and he gobbles it up in his big bucket hands. Slight twist in the tale but Gulbadin has put his side in a strong position; threw his glove away and is livid with himself
