Hang on for quotes from the post-match ceremony
Man of the Match is Shahid Afridi : "The guys played very well. Guys like Khalid Latif, Kamran Akmal and Razzaq. YOunis gave me good confidence; he just told me to go and bat without any worries."
Vettori: It started well for us but we lost the momentum. Kamran and Razzaq played superbly. Afridi came in late and then Akmal turned the momentum. In batting, we couldn't get the impetus going; we couldn't get a partnership going. Now we have seen what the pitch is like, what is a good total on this track and what is gettable; hopefully we can get it right for the next two games."
Younis: It was a good effort from Khalid Latif, he hung in there and then the allrounders came and turned it. Afridi's innings was the turning point. He was fantastic. Then Kamran Akmal played a fantastic innings. (On his own form) It's not always possible to score runs, hopefully I will come back." Asked whether he is much more relaxed captain, Younis smiles big and says, "I am always relaxed!"
And that's it from us.
on the off stump line, pushed out to extra cover region
googly just outside off, shapes to drive and it runs off the pad
lands outside off, spins away and Kamran collects
on the off stump line, pushed out to long-off
flighted outside off stump, left alone
quicker one, short of length, skids on past the attempted cut
loopy delivery outside off stump, driven to deep cover
a fine slow yorker on the middle, just about dug out in time
length delivery that straightens outside off, catches the edge, but the ball falls short of the slip fielder
full delivery around off stump, pushed out to the off side
cuts back in towards the middle, edged to midwicket
Butler is run out. Direct hit from Umar Gul. Good bye sir. It was pushed to left of mid-on where Gul swooped in on the ball and fires in a lovely throw. It has been referee upstairs and the verdict is out
length delivery on the middle, jabbed to the on side
He has really fired that one across. Pacy! full delivery and it has been flicked through midwicket
just short of length, outside off, cut to backward point
turns in to roll away off the pad
floated outside off stump, Butler is again struck on the pad but outside off
what a big big shout for lbw .. It was the googly and struck the pad on the leg and middle line. It would have just gone down leg side, though.
Afridi on a hattrick. Can he do it?
