ACC Under-17 Cup Tournament Suspended

The ACC Under-17 Cup 2005 tournament has been suspended after the Tournament Technical Committee decided that the worsening haze situation posed a health hazard to the players and officials.

ANNOUNCEMENT
The Tournament Technical Committee, comprising Mr Charlie Chelliah - Tournament Director, Anil Kalaver - Technical Director and Roger Binny - Tournament Referee, met on the 11th of August 2005 and decided on the following course of action:
  • In view of the worsening haze condition and the potential risk to players and officials health, it was decided to abandon all matches and suspend any further play in the tournament.
  • The results of matches between Kuwait & Nepal and Bahrain & Singapore will henceforth be declared as "no result" matches.
  • The prevailing health hazard and the Government advice on restricting outdoor activities due to the accelerating API index are sighted for the decision of this committee.
