Elmo Rodrigopulle reporting - Cape Town, South Africa, Tuesday.
Aravinda de Silva, whose fame as a batsman has hit world
head-lines and made many test playing nations admire his
excellence with the bat has been offered a contract to play for
Boland, next season.
Aravinda was delighted with the offer and said: 'It has always
been my ambition to have a stint in South Africa. The offer is
good, but there are a few clauses in the contract they hope to
offer me to be put right', said Aravinda.
Hylton Ackerman the former South African batsman who had heard
so much about Aravinda's exploits with the bat had a long chat
with Aravinda during Sri Lanka's game with Boland and Sri
Lanka's master batsman will probably sign the dotted line before
he leaves South Africa.
"The contract is still to be signed and sealed. And before I
leave I hope to iron out the little differences" said Aravinda.
Boland will indeed be lucky to sign on de Silva.

also played for Auckland in New Zealand. He also did wonders

scored for Kent against Lancashire and for Auckland in one of
their vital games.
