After enjoying the sweet taste of success in the first test match, England Under 19's will be facing an uphill struggle to win the second match of the series against their Australian counterparts that is being played in Melbourne.
In response to the Aussies first innings total of 164, England were bowled out for 115. By close of play on the second day the hosts had reached 297 for 9, a lead of 346, which will leave the English youngsters a tough target when they bat again.
Somerset's Neil Edwards who's 97 at Adelaide helped to pave the way for the first ever English Under 19 victory `down under'has so far been less successful at Melbourne, and was dismissed for 6 in the first innings.
The young Cornishman will be anxious to make amends when he goes out to the middle for a second time at the M.C.G. particularly as his father and his brother will be amongst the crowd.
Neil can rest assured that all his supporters back home in England will be rooting for him and hoping that he can produce another substantial innings to get his side offto a good start.
Meanwhile Somerset's newest England one day star Ian Blackwell has arrived in South Africa along with the rest of his team mates ahead of the World Cup that gets underway in just a few days time.
He told his colleagues back at the County Ground in Taunton: "It's been a long journey but it's good to have arrived here in South Africa, where the sun is shining and its pretty warm, not like it is back at home. I won't be staying up late tonight because I'm feeling pretty tired, and can't wait to get out on the golf course at Sun City!"
