Azharuddin receives Sportstar Award

Former Indian captain Md Azharuddin on Friday received the Sportstar Sportsperson of the year award for 1998 from Board of Control for Cricket in India president AC Muthiah at a function in Chennai.

Speaking on the occasion, Muthiah said it was always a delight to watch Azhar play. Noting that he was an inspiration to young aspiring, cricketers, Muthiah said Azhar should help produce more Azharuddins for Indian cricket. Replying to the felicitations, Azharuddin said he looked forward to playing for India in the future again.
