Left-arm pacer Manjurul Islam of Mohammedan Sporting Club has been
suspended for a year and fined Taka 50,000, a partial amount that the
board spent for his travel to South Africa. This was decided by the
BCB at its executive committee meeting yesterday.
Manjurul was sent to South Africa last May for a four-month long
cricket training. But he returned home surprisingly in July without
the permission of either the United Cricket Board of South Africa or
the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).
The tall seamer will not be allowed to take part in any competitive
cricket next season.
