To celebrate their 50th Anniversary, the Lord's Taverners commissioned a limited edition of 50 signed cricket bats.
They carry the signatures of the 32 England captains since 1950, and etched on are the signatures of the five deceased captains.
Now you can bid for one of these bats at ECB.co.uk by placing a written bid in an envelope to Jennie Green at The Lord's Taverners, 10 Buckingham Place, London SW1 6HX or e-mailing jgreen@lordstaverners.org
All bids must be placed by March 30, and only the highest bidders will be notified. If two people have made exactly the same bid, both will be told and asked if they want to bid higher.
There is a reserve on each bat of £2,000. So make a bid today for this very special, autographed bat and help The Lord's Taverners raise money in their 50th year to 'give young people, particularly those with special needs, a sporting chance'.
Money raised benefits disadvantaged and disabled youngsters throughout the country and enables then to participate in team sports and recreational activities in the following ways:
  • by providing incentives to play cricket and other team games
  • by creating recreational facilities in conjunction with the National Playing Association
  • by encouraging disabled young people to participate in sporting activities
  • by supplying minibuses to give disabled children vital mobility
