Scotland have announced a 16-man squad for their tour of Namibia next month, and their Intercontinental Cup match in Windhoek in April.
The squad includes Craig Wright and Gordon Drummond, who will fly to Namibia from South Africa where they are coaching the national Under-15 and Under-20 squads on their respective tours. Due to work commitments, Glenn Rogers will join the squad just prior to Intercontinental Cup game, and Scotland also miss out on the experience of Dougie Brown who is injured.
"The trip to Namibia has been planned as a pre-season training camp, followed by a very important Intercontinental Cup game with Namibia," Peter Steindl, who was appointed Scotland's coach last December, said. "The squad has been training hard indoors since early January and we are all looking forward to preparing for the season ahead in the warmth of Africa."
"The squad reflects our established players, but will also give opportunities to players such as [Richie] Berrington, [Omer] Hussain, [Majid] Sheikh, [Simon] Smith and [Sean] Weeraratna to make an impression ahead of a full summer schedule."
Namibia are closing in on leaders Kenya in the Intercontinental Cup table, trailing by 18 points with a game in hand. Scotland, meanwhile, are mid-placed with one win out of three.
